What is ?
yusamizu is a scarf brand launched in 2013 by the textile designer Masaru Tamura that showcases the diverse range of his techniques.
Each scarf is made by thoroughly examining the material and harnessing traditional Japanese techniques that are gradually being lost with the hope of passing these techniques on to future generations.
Integral to maximizing the qualities of natural materials and creating a soft and pleasant texture for these scarves are Japan's delicate and effective techniques which are highly regarded throughout the world, looms that exist in highly limited quantities in Japan which are capable of weaving delicate threads, as well as an aesthetic sensibility cultivated from ancient times.
yusamizu scarves are slowly and patiently weaved using looms that can only produce several scarves each day to achieve a quality that would allow customers who have purchased these scarves to continue using them for a long time.
